Texas A&M Aggies

The Texas A&M Aggies are the athletic teams that represent Texas A&M University. The official school colors for the teams are maroon and white, and their mascot is a collie named Reveille. The university’s sports programs compete in NCAA Division I of both the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Big 12 Conferences, with football competing in the SEC West division.

Texas A&M was established as an agricultural college in 1876, which led to its current nickname “Aggies”. Its competitive athletics program began shortly thereafter; they first competed against other schools on May 14th, 1894 when they played LSU at baseball. Since then, many successful athletes have gone through Texas A&M’s sports programs including twelve Heisman Trophy winners: John David Crow (1957), Earl Campbell (1977), Johnny Manziel (2012), Ryan Tannehill (2018).
