SXSW

South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual set of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in Austin, Texas. It was founded in 1987 to celebrate the convergence of the music industry with new technologies such as computers and digital audio. The event has since grown into a massive gathering each year featuring over 2200 musical performances from artists all around the world on more than 90 stages located throughout downtown Austin. Alongside the music festival there are numerous presentations, panels, workshops and networking opportunities for attendees to explore across multiple sectors including health tech & innovation, gaming & esports technology and culture entertainment & content creation.

The SXSW Music Festival began life at clubs along 6th street in Downtown Austin during its inaugural year but quickly outgrew those venues as it grew bigger each year; now spread across many other locations like Auditorium Shores or Rainey Street district creating one of America’s most unique urban playgrounds for live concerts. Apart from showcasing up-and-coming talent from various genres within alternative rock/pop/hip hop etc., well known acts such as Radiohead , Kanye West , Lady Gaga , Bruce Springsteen have also graced this stage over several years . In addition to these global sensations SXSW features art installations on city streets which often become popular attractions among visitors who travel far distances just so they can experience them firsthand .
