The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks men’s basketball team is the intercollegiate men’s basketball program representing Southeast Missouri State University located in Cape Girardeau, MO. The school competes in NCAA Division I and are members of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).

The Redhawks began play during the 1911–12 season and have since won six conference tournament championships: two while a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) between 1999-2008, one as an independent from 2008-2012, and three consecutive OVC titles from 2017 to 2019. In 2020 they lost to Belmont who went on to win their first ever NCAA Tournament game.
Southeast has had several players move onto professional careers including current NBA player Tyler Hansbrough who was selected 13th overall by Indiana Pacers in 2009 after leading all college players with 20 points per game his senior year. Other former pros include Marland Smith, Will Franklin & Mike Kibbe among others.

Home games are played at Show Me Center which opened its doors for business in 1989 & can seat up to 8500 people when full capacity is reached making it one of largest arenas used by any OVC teams today! The Redhawk mascot “Rowdy” also makes appearances at home games adding extra entertainment value for fans attending events there!

During their history Southeast has made five trips into postseason tournaments; three NITs(National Invitational Tournaments), two CITs(CollegeInsider Tournament) most recently winning championship title back 2011 under then head coach Dickey Nutt – however due recent success led by Rick Ray entering 2021 campaign expectations high once again within SEMO community!
