South Carolina state government is the governmental structure of the U.S. state of South Carolina as established by its constitution and law, and regulated by it’s three branches – executive, legislative, and judicial. The Constitution of South Carolina provides for a bicameral legislature composed of two chambers – the House of Representatives with 124 members elected from single-member districts (with term limits) every 2 years; and the Senate consisting of 46 members elected from geographic districts that are redrawn each decade in response to population shifts revealed in censuses taken at regular intervals throughout the country.

The Executive Branch encompasses six separate departments: Agriculture; Commerce; Corrections; Education; Health & Environmental Control (DHEC); Juvenile Justice; Labor Licensing & Regulation (LLR); Natural Resources (DNR), Public Safety Law Enforcement Division(SLED). These departments work closely together to ensure services are delivered efficiently across all areas within their jurisdiction including public safety, health care delivery systems regulatory oversight etc.. All these departments are headed up by cabinet appointees nominated by thee governor who then require confirmation from both houses before taking office which is usually granted without major dispute or difficulty due to strong party loyalty among legislators on both sides along traditional lines often leading towards an uncontested outcome when voting occurs.

The Judicial Branch consists mainly out 17 circuit court judges appointed through a merit based competitive selection process conducted jointly between representatives chosen amongst attorneys practicing in South Carolina State Bar Association alongside other non-attorney laypeople selected so as provide greater impartiality during decisions made regarding potential candidates being proposed for appointment into positions available within this branch . This system ensures that only highly qualified individuals possessing necessary qualifications , legal acumen , experience required can be endorsed after passing rigorous oral interviews held prior hearings whereby commission must come unanimous agreement over who should be appointed onto any given position advertised ..

Finally there is Legislative Branch presided over directly Governor whose primary role involves setting forth policies related various issues affecting citizens living inside borders such taxation spending infrastructure development housing healthcare education labor laws environment protection military affairs etc… Additional powers also include appointing department heads running agencies under his/her control issuing pardons granting clemency delaying execution sentences giving addresses either joint session Legislature calling special sessions certain occasions vetoing bills passed majority vote thru either house if found disagreeable allowing them lapse period time instead signing outright rejection making recommendations introducing proposals submitting budgets outlining specific measures needs implemented order achieve objectives desired create better quality life everyone residing area concerned …
