Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe (born 7 April 1964) is an Academy Award-winning New Zealand-Australian actor, film producer and musician. He first came to international attention for his role as the Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the 2000 historical epic Gladiator, which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor, an Academy Award win for Best Actor and several other awards. Since then he has been featured in some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters such as A Beautiful Mind (2001), Cinderella Man (2005), American Gangster (2007) and Les Misérables (2012).

Crowe began his acting career by appearing on Australian television shows like The Young Doctors before making his feature debut with Proof in 1991. His breakthrough performance was that of Detective Sergeant John Britten in Romper Stomper (1992). He went on to appear in many well known films including L.A Confidential(1997), Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World(2003)and Robin Hood(2010). As a film producer he has worked on numerous successful projects such as Mystery Alaska(1999)and 3:10 to Yuma(2007). In 2008 he formed Indelible Productions which produces various documentaries, music videos and short films.

Throughout his career Crowe has received much critical acclaim winning two BAFTA Awards , one British Academy Television International Award , three Screen Actors Guild Awards , seven AACTA Awards from Australia’s leading industry body – among them Best Lead Actor four times – five Empire Awards . Additionally he won two consecutive Golden Globe awards; one award each at Berlin Film Festival ; Cannes Film Festival ; Venice Film Festival ; Sundance Film festival etc.. Four Oscars nominations were also made with only one success – best actor category Oscar due to Gladiator movie released back into year 2000 . For contribution towards performing arts Russell Crowe was awarded Officer Of The Order Of Arts And Letters By French Government Earlier this year 2020 .He was appointed Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit by Queen Elizabeth II during 2017 investitures ceremony .In 2013 Qantas Airways named Boeing 737 aircraft “Russel Crow” after their ambassador who flew almost 2 million miles marking it 12th aircraft name recognition honour bestowed upon celebrities since 1938 when they started naming planes after famous people or places associated with Australia/Newzealand region !

Apart from being an acclaimed actor Russel crowe is also popular singer & songwriter having recorded songs both album wise & soundtracks used along movies featuring himself ! Few albums are My Hand My Heart produced back into 2003 followed up next year 2004 release titled “The Ordinary Fear Of God” Both albums got good reviews plus gained popularity over internet platforms too! Music video directed by Robert Zemickis called Come Undone rose upto no 6 spot during week June 2019 itself proving singer side still active even today !! Moreover very recently single track titled “Bitter Harvest” dropped out last month on March 2021 amid huge fanfare worldwide via social media platform youtube!! Apart from singing /acting profession Russel crow indulges himself actively upon sports activities involving rugby union matches between australia vs new zealand teams & cricket watching interests whenever possible ..
