Princeton Tigers men’s basketball by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 42 The Princeton Tigers men’s basketball team represents Princeton University in NCAA Division I college basketball. The school competes in the Ivy League conference and is coached by Mitch Henderson, who has been at the helm since 2011. Princeton Basketball began play during the 1901–02 season under head coach Henry Van Alstyne and finished with a record of 6 wins against 9 losses. Over their first hundred years, they have won over 1,600 games and lost just shy of 900. Their all-time winning percentage stands at .632 as of 2019–20 season (1,629 wins out 2,569 total games). In terms of championships won within their division or conference they hold five titles: four outright Ivy League regular-season championships (1966, 1967 & 1975) shared one title with Penn Quakers which was awarded to them following a tiebreaker system implemented due to several teams finishing tied atop standings for that year and an ECAC Metro championship in 1989. They have also earned two NIT bids (1971 & 2016). Other notable accomplishments include reaching three Sweet Sixteen appearances during March Madness tournaments: 1965 East regionals semi-finals; 1983 East regionals finals; 1998 Midwest regionals quarterfinals – but losing each time before advancing further into tournament brackets/playoffs beyond these stages respectively . Princeton Hall arena built from 1961 until 1969 serves as now home court for Tigers after previously playing on various courts located throughout campus like Dillon Gymnasium or Jadwin Gymnasium between seasons 1934 till early 1960s – when construction started taking place thereon eventually leading up dedicating newly build sports facility upon its completion 8 years later In modern day many former players such as Bill Bradley go onto represent university either professionally while others manage land spots among national level selections including NBA draft pick Douglas Davis selected 11th overall back 2006 by Indiana Pacers franchise..
