Palestinian territories government

The Palestinian territories government is the governing body of the occupied Palestinian Territories located in parts of Jordan, Egypt and Syria. The government was established after the signing of Oslo Accords between Israel and Palestine in 1993. It is a semi-autonomous entity that operates under Israeli military occupation.

It consists of three branches: executive, legislative and judicial branch which are all split into two separate entities – one for Gaza Strip governed by Hamas party and another for West Bank governed by Fatah party’s President Mahmoud Abbas. The Executive Branch executes laws passed by Legislative Branch (Palestinian National Authority) while Judicial Branch interprets existing laws within its jurisdiction as defined by Basic Law (constitution).

Both Gaza Strip and West Bank have their own Prime Minister appointed directly from respective political parties; Ismail Haniyeh (Hamas) in Gaza Strip since 2006 while Rami Hamdallah (Fatah) serves as Prime Minister since 2013 in West Bank region following resignation/dismissal his predecessor Salam Fayyad due to internal disagreements with President Mahmoud Abbas over policy matters such as taxes collected from citizens living outside PNA’s jurisdiction or those working on foreign projects inside it. Both have their own cabinet members who serve at discretion president but also can be dismissed if found guilty corruption charges etc.. In addition, there are six “district governors” selected each district governorates across both regions – North Governorate, Nablus Governorate, Hebron Governorate , Jerusalem District , Jericho District & Ramallah & Al-Bireh District . All these officials are accountable only towards president himself not any other authority including international ones like United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding settlements’ freeze or right return refugees etc…which has been source significant tension between PNA itself various non governmental organizations advocating rights Palestinians living abroad particularly refugee camps surrounding countries where they seek refuge such Lebanon or Syria etc..

In conclusion then we see how despite hardships facing them due ongoing conflict situation present day Palestinians still manage maintain some semblance functioning state through collaborative efforts different stakeholders contribute creating stability region building upon original framework set out Oslo Accord signed back 1993 this regard thereby opening up possibility future peace negotiations resolution long term regional issues associated same namely status quo Israel Palestine dispute….
