Oregon state government is the governmental structure of the U.S. state of Oregon as established by its constitution and laws, including executive, legislative, and judicial branches which serve to govern its citizens. The current governor is Kate Brown (D) who assumed office in 2015 after being appointed by then-Governor John Kitzhaber following his resignation from office due a scandal involving his fiancée’s involvement with an energy company..
