Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland is a country located in the north-east of the island of Ireland. It is part of the United Kingdom, and has a total population estimated at 1,877,000 people as of 2018. The capital city of Northern Ireland is Belfast.

The history behind Northern Ireland’s formation dates back to 1921 when it was first established by the Government Of Ireland Act 1920 following decades-long religious divisions between Irish Catholics and Protestant Unionists on the island. This division formed two separate political entities: Southern Irish Free State with its own government in Dublin; and six counties that remained within Britain known as Northern or Ulster Province (which later became known as Northern Ireland). In 1922 most parts outside six counties gained independence from Great Britain while remaining under British Crown rule until 1949 when Republic Of Eire was declared which ended all ties with UK except for sharing common monarch head – King George VI who stayed officially head state till his death 1952 when Queen Elizabeth II took over position..
By 1998 Good Friday Agreement new power sharing arrangements were introduced whereby both sides would have representation in Executive Cabinet giving each side equal say decision making process matters related directly them such education health care transport etc.. Following this agreement also allowed free movement across border without any custom checks passport requirements citizens either side could travel freely move around region work live there being discriminated against their nationality religion beliefs etc… Today northern ireland still remains an integral part united kingdom but enjoys certain autonomy terms law enforcement policy implementation taxation fiscal management other local issues collectively decided upon through cross community representatives executive cabinet members appointed every four years general elections held ensure fair democratic system place within province itself where majority views opinions taken into consideration whilst deciding future direction path should take forward….
