NHL hockey

The National Hockey League (NHL) is a professional ice hockey league in North America, comprising of 31 teams across the United States and Canada. The NHL was founded on November 26th 1917 in Montreal Quebec with four original franchise members: the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Millionaires.

As one of the oldest major sports leagues in North America today, it has grown to become one of its most popular as well. It currently consists of two Conferences—the Eastern Conference and Western Conference—which are each divided into two divisions; Atlantic Division and Metropolitan Division for the East while Central Division ad Pacific Divisions form part of West’s structure. Each team plays an 82-game regular season schedule before participating in either playoffs or qualifying rounds which take place between April through June every year following their respective seasons’ conclusion.
