It was one of the original thirteen colonies that formed the United States, and it became its ninth state on June 21st 1788. The capital city is Concord, while Manchester and Nashua are two of its larger cities. Geography-wise, New Hampshire consists of 9 counties stretching from north to south along much of eastern coast line; at 24 miles wide by 48 miles long, it’s one of America’s smallest states yet with an expansive range of natural geography within those boundaries – mountains dominate most areas throughout the entire length and breadth giving way to lowland valleys or coastal regions near Maine and Massachusetts borderlines. Its forested terrain includes White Mountain National Forest as well as lakes such as Lake Winnipesaukee which attract tourists during summer months for fishing & swimming activities respectively. In terms education institutions like Dartmouth College (in Hanover), University Of New Hampshire (Durham) have their presence in this part making NH home to some premier educational institutes over US .
