Movies by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 83 Movies are a form of visual entertainment that is created by recording images in rapid succession to create the illusion of motion. They often tell stories or present ideas, and can be used for educational and artistic purposes. The term “movie” was first used in 1895 when Thomas Edison released his kinetoscope, which could project moving pictures on a screen. Since then, movies have become an integral part of culture around the world. In traditional filmmaking, actors act out scenes written by writers before being filmed using cameras and other film equipment such as lights and sound recorders. Movies may also include special effects that are added during post-production editing to give them more depth or realism than possible with live action filming alone. This combination of storytelling techniques has enabled filmmakers to explore many different genres including comedy, drama, fantasy/sci-fi films as well as documentaries about real people and events throughout history.. The earliest known example of a movie was L’Arrivée d’un train en gare de La Ciotat (1895), produced by Auguste Lumière; however it wasn’t until the 1920s when feature length films were developed after the invention of synchronized sound recordings allowed dialogue between characters onscreen instead of having silent films accompanied only by music played through instruments like pianos or organs at cinemas . Since then there have been major advances in technology which allow directors to use computer generated imagery (CGI) alongside regular footage creating even more spectacular visuals for viewers worldwide . Over time , Hollywood emerged as oneofthe biggest centersfor moviemakingin North America due its proximityto Los Angeles where muchofthe industry’s infrastructureis locatedsuchassound stagesand production companies .
