Moldova by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 78 Moldova is a country located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south. The capital city is Chișinău. Moldova has an area of 33,851 km2 (13,067 sq mi) with a population of 3 million people making it one of the least populous countries in Europe. The official language spoken in Moldova is Romanian which along with English are taught as compulsory languages at schools around the nation. Other than this there are several other regional languages such as Gagauz and Bulgarian that can be heard across regions depending on location within Moldovan territory. The history of modern day Moldova dates back to 14th century when it was part of Principality Of Valachia under Ottoman rule until 1812 when Russia annexed most parts after two Russo-Turkish wars concluding its full annexation into Russian Empire during 1940s due to sovietization policies implemented by then Soviet Union eventually becoming independent after fall USSR era during 1991–1992 period following dissolution Cold War Era between East & West Blocs . Since independence various reforms were implemented including introduction New Constitution 1996 aiming towards democratization process & promoting economic growth through foreign investments leading toward fast forward development among areas like agriculture , industry , education etc., however corruption remains major issue facing those efforts thus slowing progress throughout years despite EU assistance since 1994 till present time . In regards economy , main strengths include rich soil for farming production plus high level services provided from abroad increasing employment opportunities for locals meanwhile IT sector plays also important role connecting region resources globally . Overall tourism spot offers variety attractions related nature historical heritage educational spots all worth visiting if traveler decides stopover ever journeyed nearby states or further away places alike Despite not achieving highest levels success attained degree financial stability compared surrounding entities yet still considered valuable member international community thanks diverse cultural values appreciated worldwide hoping lead prosperous future generations come
