Missouri

Missouri is a state located in the Midwestern and Southern regions of the United States. It shares borders with eight other states: Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. Missouri was admitted to the Union as the 24th state on August 10th 1821. The capital of Missouri is Jefferson City while its largest city by population is Kansas City.

The geography of Missouri consists mainly of low rolling hills and plains which cover most of central and northern parts of the state; however there are some mountainous areas in southeastern portions where it meets up with Arkansas (Ozark Mountains). In addition to this there are also several major rivers including Mississippi River that flows along western part; these waterways have been important for transportation since early settlement days making them vital for trade between settlers moving westward during 19-20 century period as well as providing excellent fishing opportunities today.

The climate in Missouri varies depending on location but generally speaking temperatures range from hot summers into cold winters – typical continental weather patterns experienced across much US Midwest region.
