Missouri Tigers men’s basketball by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 52 The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball program is the intercollegiate men’s basketball team of the University of Missouri, located in Columbia, Missouri. The program competes in NCAA Division I and is a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team plays its home games at Mizzou Arena as members of the SEC Eastern division. Missouri has appeared nine times in the NCAA Tournament including two Final Four appearances: first during their 1954–55 season where they lost to eventual champions La Salle Explorers 78-76; and again during their 2002–03 season when they were defeated by Kansas Jayhawks 81-75 on March 29th 2003 after leading most of game. They also won eight regular season conference championships and have made 24 total postseason tournament appearances since joining the Big Eight Conference for 1972–73. With an all time record standing at 1,367 wins and 956 losses entering 2021, it ranks third among all SEC programs behind Kentucky Wildcats with 2187 victories & 1171 defeats over 126 seasons (1915 – 2021) .
