Mexico by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 120 Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is a country in North America. It borders the United States to its north and Guatemala and Belize to its south. Its capital city is Mexico City. The area of modern-day Mexico has been home to many civilizations since ancient times including the Aztecs, Maya, Olmecs, Toltec’s as well as numerous other Mesoamerican peoples. Its rich history also includes Spanish colonization from 1521 until 1810 when it gained independence after centuries of struggle against colonial rule by indigenous people groups during what was known as La Guerra de Independencia (The War for Independence). Today with an estimated population of over 126 million inhabitants according to 2018 estimates making it one of the most populous countries in Latin America and 11th largest nation worldwide by population size; Mexico is considered a multicultural society due largely in part because there are 64 recognized ethnicities within its boundaries each with their own customs & language(s), although Spanish remains predominant throughout most regions across this vast territory that spans 1 972 550 square kilometers/761 600 sq miles stretching some 2 000 km/1242 mi long from tip-to-tip between two oceans – Gulf Of California (Pacific) & Caribbean Sea (Atlantic); plus 8 additional neighboring countries; both natural wonders such diverse landscapes can be found here which makes tourism another major economic force alongside agriculture production exports like Coffee beans Avocados Mangoes Papayas & Tequila! As far as government structure goes Mexico operates under federal presidential constitutional republic featuring strong separation powers among executive legislative judicial branches – all overseen by elected officials who serve 6 year terms at maximum while citizens get opportunity every 3 years or so vote into office new politicians if they choose do so based on political platform policies presented them ahead elections taking place July 1st each cycle respectively…In addition economy wise much focus placed developing oil industry recently albeit significant challenges still exist infrastructure related issues lack investment especially rural areas where poverty levels remain high despite overall growth seen past decade+.
