Mexico government

Mexico is a federal constitutional republic in North America. It comprises of 31 states and Mexico City, its capital and largest city. The government has three branches: executive, legislative and judicial.

Executive Branch
The President of Mexico is the head of state and chief executive officer who exercises power over the entire country’s public administration including issuing decrees that have the force of law as well as conducting foreign policy decisions with other countries or international organizations such as the United Nations (UN). The president also serves as commander-in-chief for all military forces within Mexican territory. Elected by popular vote every six years, presidents are limited to one term per election cycle due to restrictions imposed by Article 82 from their constitution. Members from different political parties can be elected into office after each election period but must abide by similar laws set out by congress before being able to take action on any presidential decree issued during their tenure in office.*
