Memphis by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 97 Memphis is the largest city in Tennessee and the second most populous city in the southeastern United States. It lies on the Mississippi River, at a point just south of its intersection with Wolf River. The population was 653,450 as of 2018 estimates from U.S Census Bureau making it Tennessee’s biggest metropolitan area and one of America’s 25 largest metro areas .
