McDonald’s Corp by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 64 McDonald’s Corp (NYSE: MCD) is an American multinational fast food company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald in 1940 as a restaurant operating system. The company operates over 37,000 locations worldwide serving burgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries, breakfast items and other foods. Its most notable product is the Big Mac hamburger which has become an iconic part of popular culture around the world. The business began to grow rapidly after World War II when its franchising model allowed it to expand quickly throughout North America becoming one of the largest chains in the world within decades. By 1967 McDonald’s had opened more than 1,000 restaurants across all major areas of Canada and USA while also launching overseas with locations opening up in England and Japan during this time period too.. In 1975 they introduced their signature “Happy Meal” box which featured toys inside every order for children making them even more successful amongst families who wanted to treat their kids with something special on occasions like birthdays or holidays.. Over time McDonald’s has continued expanding into new markets such as Asia-Pacific where it now holds nearly half market share among global consumers for quick service restaurants according to a 2018 industry report from Euromonitor International . This growth can be attributed largely due its focus on innovation including mobile ordering services that have been rolled out recently allowing customers greater convenience when going through drive thru or take away orders without having wait times at cashiers stand . Additionally since early 2000s Mcdonald’s Corporation has committed significant resources towards sustainability initiatives particularly reducing energy consumption & waste production associated with operations thereby helping combat climate change effects globally .. Today McDonald’s remains one of the leading fast food companies worldwide being publicly traded on New York Stock Exchange under ticker symbol “MCD” & reporting annual revenues close $21 billion USD 2017 fiscal year end results showing 6% increase compared 2016 earnings …
