Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) is an English Premier League football club based in Manchester, England. Founded in 1880 as St. Mark’s (West Gorton), they became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894. The club moved to the City of Manchester Stadium in 2003, having played at Maine Road since 1923.

The team has won four top-flight titles, five FA Cups and two League cups since their formation and most recently lifted the 2020–21 Premier League title under manager Pep Guardiola after a 2nd place finish during the 2018/19 season with 98 points – just one point behind champions Liverpool FC who ended 30 years of waiting for a league win by amassing 97 points that season – surpassing any other previous record set by teams within Europe’s Top 5 Leagues across seasons prior to this historic campaign.. In addition to these honours, MCFC have also twice won the Community Shield; once on penalties against Chelsea F.C., following 1-1 draw over 90 minutes back during 2019/20 Season & then again while claiming their latest 2021 triumph over rivals Liverpool Fc with 4 goals from Phil Foedes , Bernardo Silva, Ferran Torres & Riyad Mahrez .

They are owned by Abu Dhabi United Group who purchased them for £210m ($320m) from former owner Thaksin Shinawatra back when Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan took control of ownership duties at Eastlands stadium which was later renamed Etihad Stadium due to sponsorship obligations.. Since 2013/14 season there have been considerable investments made into new players signing up such as Raheem Sterling , Kevin De Bruyne , Sergio Aguero etc & hiring renowned managers like Manuel Pellegrini or Pep Guardiola all culminating towards greater success including clinching Carabao Cup titles alongside multiple Champions league qualifications along with Super Cup appearances too! These successes were further bolstered upon winning two consecutive EPL titles between 2017-2019 before finally reclaiming it again last year bringing total trophy count to 6 domestic trophies out 8 competitions entered within last 3 years alone!

Off field activities include charitable work through foundation established post 2011 earthquake victims located near Fukushima Japan
