After leaving her studies due to financial problems she ventured into music industry as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing writing songs for artists such as Fergie and Pussycat Dolls. In 2007 Lady Gaga signed with Streamline Records, where Akon noticed her vocal abilities after hearing some demos that she had recorded on MySpace. He subsequently signed her to his own label Kon Live Distribution which released The Fame album by Lady Gaga in 2008. The success of this first album catapulted Lady Gaga into international stardom with singles like “Just Dance” becoming worldwide hits reaching number one on many charts around the world while others such as “Poker Face,” “LoveGame” or “Bad Romance” became pop culture references among young generations both inside and outside United States boundaries gaining several awards throughout 2009 including five Grammys at 2010 ceremony..
