King Charles III

King Charles III (born 14 October 1948) is a British monarch and the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II. He ascended to the throne on 6 February 2021, becoming the longest-reigning monarch in British history following his mother’s death.

Early life and education
Charles was born at Buckingham Palace in London as the first child of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His early childhood was spent primarily at Buckingham Palace or Balmoral Castle, with occasional visits to Sandringham House for holidays with his family. He received tutoring from private teachers while attending Gordonstoun School in Scotland before graduating from Cambridge University in 1970 with an honors degree in History.

Reign

On 6 February 2021 King Charles succeeded his mother upon her death marked by nationwide mourning across Britain which saw tens of thousands line up along The Mall during his accession ceremony two days later where he swore allegiance to “maintain law” upholding constitutional rights and liberties throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland respectively – echoing similar oaths made by previous Monarchs since 1688 when James II had been deposed after failing to do so previously . Under Charles’ reign many have noted that there has been much continuity between himself ,his mother & father who preceded him but also some minor changes too; such as increasing public engagements including more international trips than any predecessor or promoting greater environmental sustainability initiatives within government departments . Additionally , media attention towards Royal Family members has become increasingly common due largely thanks their social media presence .

Personal Life

outside of reigning over United Kingdom ; King Charles maintains personal interests in literature & art – often taking time out from official duties curate collections hosted around country annually either through direct donations or fundraisers held benefit charities/causes close heart .. Away palace grounds enjoys spending time outdoors activity like birdwatching hiking playing golf among other pursuits
