Kansas State Wildcats men’s basketball by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 71 The Kansas State Wildcats men’s basketball team is the intercollegiate men’s basketball program of the Kansas State University, based in Manhattan, Kansas. The program competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I and plays its home games at Bramlage Coliseum on campus. History The Wildcats have had a long history as one of the most successful programs in college basketball. They won their first conference title in 1908 under head coach William Ritter and went on to win numerous titles during their time as members of both the Missouri Valley Conference (1913–1992) and Big 8/12 Conferences (since 1992). In addition to this success they have also made 18 appearances in NCAA Tournaments including two Final Fours; once under Jack Gardner (1948) and again with Frank Martin leading them to an Elite Eight appearance before losing to eventual national champion Connecticut Huskies in 2011. During these years some notable players such as Bob Boozer, Chuckie Williams, Mitch Richmond all wore K-State uniforms while playing professionally after collegiate careers were completed successfully here at Wildcat Country! Current Team Under Head Coach Bruce Weber since 2012, who has led teams into postseason play 6 times out of his eight seasons thus far – 4 NITs & 2 March Madness invites – he has seen three All-Big 12 First Teams selections from current roster member Xavier Sneed last season along with Barry Brown Jr., Dean Wade’s selection for 2017-18 campaign respectively…also producing multiple Academic All Americans like Kamau Stokes & Makol Mawien over recent campaigns too that speak volumes about academic standards maintained by institution itself when it comes down delivering high quality athletics performance! Current roster includes names like DaJuan Gordon , David Sloan , Mike McGuirl etc..who will be looking forward make mark across court this coming year 2020–21 where expectations are already sky rocketing due set returning talent available within ranks now….only time tell if they’ll able meet lofty goals set themselves ahead journey begins soon!! Rivalries Kansas State holds rivalries against several other schools especially those located nearby state boundaries such Oklahoma Sooners whom they’ve faced off annually past decades often competing fiercely bedlam series held each new calendar year…the same goes Nebraska Cornhuskers whom battled alongside many occasions throughout course respective histories athletic participation together which makes watching these matchups so exciting viewers alike no matter result turns out being end day there’s always pride line stake whenever two sides collide!!!
