Jaime Jaquez

Jaime Jaquez (born April 28, 2000) is an American basketball player for the UCLA Bruins of the Pac-12 Conference. He attended Camarillo High School in California where he was a four-year varsity starter. As a senior, Jaquez averaged 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists while earning All-State honors and being named Ventura County Player of the Year by both MaxPreps.com and The Los Angeles Times.

Jaquez originally committed to UC Santa Barbara before transferring his commitment to UCLA following Steve Alford’s hiring as head coach in March 2018. In his freshman season at UCLA he appeared in all 32 games with 13 starts and averaged 5.8 points per game on 39% shooting from three point range along with 3 rebounds per game over 18 minutes played per contest which earned him Honorable Mention Freshman All-American recognition from Sporting News magazine after averaging 10 points during conference play leading up to post season tournament action including 14 against Arizona State University highlighted by hitting five threes en route to helping secure UCLA’s spot in NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 round before falling short against eventual National Champion Virginia Cavaliers .

During offseason prior 2019–20 campaign , Jaime worked hard improving overall strength & mobility along skill set work specifically concentrating on ball handling & finishing around rim area becoming more assertive towards goals but eventually saw limited playing time due suffering injury within final few weeks regular season followed by COVID -19 situation arising cutting off rest of year prematurely leaving him unable showcase entire development as well compete into full summer months cause AAU circuit cancelations cancelling out any potential exposure scouting going forward yet still remaining cautiously optimistic about what lies ahead next season throwing himself relentlessly training regimen order get ready whatever may come Bruins 2020/21 roster expectations remain high organization looking capitalize upon return key veterans plus solid core newcomers coming together form something special .
