Hungary

Hungary is a country in Central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Ukraine and Romania to the east, Serbia and Croatia to the south, Slovenia to the southwest and Austria to the west. The capital of Hungary is Budapest.

The official language of Hungary is Hungarian which belongs to Finno-Ugric family of languages that are spoken primarily in Northern Eurasia. Other minority languages include German, Romani and Slovakian among others. According to 2011 census data nearly 90% percent of Hungarians identify as Roman Catholic with other religious affiliations including Calvinism (6%), Lutheranism (1%) or Atheist/Agnostic (3%).

Hungary has a long history dating back thousands of years it was first settled during Neolithic times c8500 BC when tribes from central Asia crossed over into this region eventually becoming part of many empires such as Rome & Ottoman Empire before its independence in 1918 following WWI . During both World Wars Hungary sided with Germany but remained relatively neutral due its geographical positioning between East & West however after WWII it became a socialist state under Soviet control until 1989 when communist rule ended during what came be known as “The Change” culminating democratic elections later that year . Since then Hungary joined NATO 1999 & EU 2004 making economic reforms along way driving growth within banking services tourism industry construction amongst others . In terms 2018 GDP per capita purchasing power parity ranks 57th highest world $25 397 ahead most European countries apart Luxembourg Cyprus Ireland Norway Switzerland Iceland Netherlands Sweden Denmark Finland etc ..
