Hawaii

Hawaii is a U.S. state located in the Pacific Ocean, southwest of California and northwest of American Samoa. It is composed of eight main islands—Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kaho‘olawe, Maui and Hawai’I Island (also known as Big Island). The capital city Honolulu is situated on the island of O’ahu and it’s the most populous city in Hawaii with an estimated population of 1 million people as per 2019 census estimates.

The Hawaiian archipelago was first discovered by Polynesian settlers from Tahiti sometime between 300-500 AD who called themselved “Kanaka Maoli” or “Native Hawaiians”. In 1778 British explorer James Cook arrived at Waimea Bay on the island of Kauai which marked European contact to Hawaii for centuries afterwards until 1820 when whalers started visiting more often than before eventually leading to US annexation in 1898 making it an official US territory during World War II after which it became a full fledged state under United States Constitution on August 21st 1959 becoming 50th member to join union thus completing so-called “continental America” .

Hawaii has one national park – Haleakala National Park – two monuments – Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument & Kaloko Honokohau National Historic Site , five wildlife refuges– Hanalei NWR , Hakalau Forest NWR ,James Campbell NWR , Kawailoa WLR & Kealia Pond NRF along with six other protected areas like Manua Loa State Park etc., making up total 2800 miles2 area dedicated towards preservation efforts; while majority landmass owned by federal government rest are held private ownerships mostly ranchers or farmers growing crops such as macadamia nuts pineapple sugarcane coffee bananas taro& many other tropical produce that contribute large part tourist economy additionally there are also number active volcanoes including world famous Kiluaea famously erupting 2018-2019 causing mass evacuations across entire Puna district but fortunately no major damages were reported due current safety protocols put into place over past decades since 1979 eruption caused significant amount destruction ”’both economic damage human lives.”’

Tourist attractions include beautiful beaches nightlife snorkeling diving surfing botanical gardens fishing whale watching flora fauna exploration hiking trails rain forests magnificent waterfalls cultural events festivals luaus hula dancing traditional ceremonies historic sites archaeological marvels town squares art galleries shopping centers golf courses resorts spas parks nature preserves museums aquariums zoos theatres national memorials theme parks amusement rides plus much more alluring visitors year round despite its remote geographical location apart from being considered paradise planet earth hawaiian culture unique blend polynesia western societies have helped shape modern day identity local communities enjoy high standard living quality healthcare education amenities while still preserving traditional customs life style through generations speaking true spirit ALOHA!
