Gordon E. Moore by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 54 Gordon Earle Moore (born January 3, 1929) is an American engineer and businessman. He co-founded the Intel Corporation in 1968 with Robert Noyce and later served as Intel’s CEO until 1975. Moore was elected to executive positions at Fairchild Semiconductor prior to his tenure at Intel; he also held a position on the board of directors for Applied Materials from 1976 to 1997. Moore has been widely recognized for his contributions to the semiconductor industry, including being honored with the National Medal of Technology by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 and receiving numerous other awards throughout his career such as The Charles Stark Draper Prize from The National Academy of Engineering and IEEE Founders Medal Awarded by Institute Of Electrical And Electronics Engineers In 1989 . His most notable work is known as “Moore’s Law” which states that over time, transistor density will double roughly every two years due to advances in technology – this prediction has proved accurate since its 1965 announcement. In 2000, Gordon E.
