The Gonzaga Bulldogs are the athletic teams that represent Gonzaga University, located in Spokane, Washington. The school’s team name is often shortened to “Zags”. They compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as members of the West Coast Conference (WCC).

In its relatively short history, Gonzaga has become one of the most successful mid-major collegiate basketball programs in America. Since 2000–01 season, head coach Mark Few has led them to 17 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and a Sweet 16 appearance for every year since 1999 with their best finish coming when they advanced all the way to Elite Eight round during 2017 tournament. In 2020, Forbes ranked them #7 among college basketball programs by value at $32 million dollars and estimated men’s program had generated more than $1 billion dollars over 15 years from 2005 through 2019 due largely to success on court leading up to March Madness tournaments each spring. That same year ESPN ranked it number 8 overall out of 351 teams nationwide; behind only Duke (#2), Kentucky (#3), Kansas (#6) and North Carolina (#7).  
   The university fields both men’s and women’s competitive sports teams which include baseball (M/W), cross country running (M/W), soccer(M/W)) golf( M / W ) , tennis( M / W ), rowing ( W ) volleyball( M / W ). In addition there is a club hockey team that competes at ACHA Division II level along with many other intramural sports opportunities available for students who want participate without sacrificing academics or time commitments associated with varsity athletics .

Presently Zag Sports have won 2 national championships–both earned by Women’s Basketball Team after winning NCAA D1 titles back-to-back seasons 2013 & 2014 respectively. Men’s Basketball Team reached Final Four once before losing 73–72 against eventual champions UNC Tar Heels 2004 while Baseball Program took home Regional Championship last summer advancing past Super Regionals Round first ever time school history despite being eliminated later College World Series play June 24th 2021 versus Vanderbilt Commodores . All told Bulldog athletes proudly boast 33 total conference championships across various sports divisions throughout this decade alone !
