General Motors Co (commonly referred to as GM) is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. It designs, manufactures, markets and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts worldwide. Founded by William C. Durant in 1908 as a holding company for Buick Motor Car Company, General Motors has grown into one of the world’s largest automakers with operations in over 37 countries around the globe.
