Gaming is a form of entertainment in which players interact with virtual worlds and stories, often to achieve goals set by the game. This surge has seen the rise of huge franchises like Mario Bros., Halo and Grand Theft Auto amongst many others while mobile gaming continues to grow its own audience via apps available on smartphones and tablets alike. Companies have also developed online platforms enabling people around the world to play together regardless of geographical location; examples include Steam (PC) & PSN (PlayStation Network). Esports are another emerging market where professional teams compete against each other at tournaments hosted worldwide for large prize pools funded through sponsorships or crowdfunding campaigns like Kickstarter etc..
