Emmanuel Macron (born 21 December 1977) is a French politician who has been President of France and ex officio Co-Prince of Andorra since 14 May 2017. He was previously Minister of the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs from 2014 to 2016 under President François Hollande, before leaving office to launch his successful bid for the presidency in 2017.

Macron served as Deputy Secretary General at the Élysée Palace, serving under both Chirac and Sarkozy presidencies prior to his ministerial role. After graduating from Sciences Po Paris he entered public service with an internship at Banque Rothschild & Cie., then moved on to become an Inspector of Finances in Ministry of Economy and Finance between 2000–2004. In 2009, Macron founded En Marche!, which is today’s major centrist movement that seeks out progressive policies through participative democracy methods based off citizen initiatives rather than party politics ideologies throughout France; seeking bipartisan solutions instead by gathering citizens together who share similar ideas or projects regardless if they are politically affiliated or not – this notion drove him towards becoming president later down the road when it comes time for reelection campaigns every 5 years starting 2022 April 24th election day in France..
