Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa (born August 22, 1995) is an English singer and songwriter. She has achieved success in the music industry with her signature brand of contemporary pop-infused R&B, which she sings both in English and Albanian.

Early life
Lipa was born on August 22nd 1995 to ethnic Albanian parents who had emigrated from Kosovo during the 1990s Yugoslav Wars when Dua was just a baby. Her father worked as marketing director for Kosovan culture magazine Stacioni while her mother worked at Pristina International Airport. Growing up, Lipa attended Sylvia Young Theatre School before switching to The Brit School where she began writing songs and developing her sound under the mentorship of music teacher Joanna Frankson – these early recordings were uploaded onto SoundCloud drawing attention from Universal Music Group’s subsidiary label, Tap Management led by Ben Mawson & Ed Millett whom subsequently signed Lipa aged sixteen years old; one year later would see them sign a major record deal with Warner Music Group’s imprint label Warners Brothers Records UK – home to artists such as Bruno Mars & David Guetta amongst others..

Career
Lipa released her first single “New Love” soon after signing with Warner Bros., followed by two more singles: “Be The One” and “Last Dance”. All three tracks charted well across Europe upon their release helping propel Dua into mainstream recognition off the back of their success combined alongside that of viral covers posted online featuring herself singing popular hits such as Rihanna’s “Diamonds” or Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” furthering fuelling interest around this then unknown artist whose name now graced European charts – it wasn’t until 2017 however that we’d witness what many consider today to be ‘the start’ of Lipas career following release album titled ‘Dua lipat’, containing lead single releases like ”Lost In Your Light” ft Miguel , ”Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” , ”Hotter Than Hell” etc .. all contributing towards achieving platinum certification status within multiple countries worldwide . To date DUA LIPA has sold over 10 million albums globally spawning massive hit singles including IDGAF , New Rules , Electricity plus collaborations along side some big names like Calvin Harris & Mark Ronson resulting in yet further international critical acclaim .
