Dan Hurley

Dan Hurley (born July 17, 1972) is an American college basketball head coach. He currently serves as the Head Coach of the University of Connecticut Huskies men’s basketball team.

Early Life and Education
Hurley was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Bob Hurley Sr., a legendary high school basketball coach at St. Anthony High School and his wife Chris Hurley. In addition to Dan, he has two brothers Bobby Jr., who coaches Arizona State Men’s Basketball Team; and Johnny , assistant coach for Rhode Island Rams Men’s Basketball Team . All three brothers played college basketball under their father at St Anthony High School where they won numerous state championships before going on to successful coaching careers in collegiate level .

College Coaching Career
In 2010-11 season , Hurley took over Wagner Seahawks Men ‘s Basketball program from Tim Capstraw after spending six seasons as associate head coach for URI Rams men’s team since 2003-04 season . After having seven consecutive winning seasons with the Seahawks , including making it into NCAA tournament twice (in 2013 & 2014), He accepted job offer by RI Rams mens’ basketballl team as head coach prior 2015-16 season replacing Jim Baron who had resigned earlier that year. During this tenure with rams he lead them 3 NIT appearances while also achieving highest single season conference wins record(12) during 2016–17 regular session which earned him Atlantic 10 Coach Of The Year honors same year . On March 22nd 2018 UConn Huskies announced hiring of Dan hurly as new men ‘ s baskeball head coahc signing 6 years contract extension worth 12 million dollars replacing Kevin Ollie whose contract had been terminated due poor performances throughout 2017-18 campaign finishing 14th AAC standings alongwith first round loss against SMU Mustangs in 2018 AAC Tournament championship game held in Orlando Florida causing massive disappointment among fans across campus leading AD David Benedict eventually deciding to part ways with former HC resulting huge speculations about potential successors all around nation until finally settling on dan providing much needed stability back into program being considered one most important hires made recent times thereby restoring faith between both parties concerning future goals set forth mutually agreed upon terms previously established thus marking beginning era ushering great success subsequently achieved following couple years later culminating 2020 National Championship title win against long time rivals Texas Tech Red Raiders becoming only 2nd division 1 institution ever achieve feat four different decades starting 1980’s respectively representing golden age glories past added bonus provided further motivation young squad led by veteran juniors Christian Vital Jalen Gaffney James Bouknight plus sophomores Tyrese Martin Akok Akok Sid Wilson setting stage epic battle ensuing ly recorded history books!
