California

California is a state in the western United States. It borders Oregon to the north, Nevada and Arizona to the east, and Mexico’s Baja California peninsula to the south. Covering an area of 163,707 square miles (423,970 km2), it is the most populous U.S. state with almost 40 million residents as of January 2020.[1] California has been inhabited by numerous Native American peoples since antiquity; its diverse population also includes many immigrants from other countries who arrived during successive waves of immigration over two centuries—from Europe in particular after 1850.[2][3]

The geography of California ranges from lush coastal rain forests in northern parts such as Humboldt County to arid desert regions like Death Valley National Park near Mojave Desert in Southern California. The Sierra Nevada mountain range forms part of its eastern border with Nevada while much along central-west coast lies within the Pacific Coast Ranges region extending up into Oregon[4]. Within these lands are several major cities including Los Angeles (the second largest city by population) San Diego Sacramento San Francisco Fresno Long Beach Oakland Anaheim Santa Ana Riverside Stockton Chula Vista Fremont Irvine Modesto & Bakersfield all having populations over 250 thousand inhabitants each according to 2019 US Census estimates[5][6].

Economically Californian economy produces around 3 trillion USD gross domestic product annually making it one eighth largest nominal GDP contributor globally [7], however due high cost living especially housing prices combined with widening income inequality this growth might be decreasing significantly [8]. Despite this fact economic activity remains largely centered around technology research entertainment finance tourism aerospace defense industry green energy manufacturing agriculture biotechnology pharmaceuticals among others leading some economists calling it “an engine for national prosperity”[9] . Additionally beyond natural resources rich landscape provides large potential for recreational activities ranging from skiing surfing golfing camping kayaking hiking etc..

As far politics goes there are two main parties democratic party republican party although independent voters make up majority constituency at present time [10]. Educationally University Of California system serves thousands students yearly plus numerous private universities providing higher education opportunities every year while public secondary schools receive funding through local governments or agencies like Lottery Commission which allocate money towards specific programs helping improve quality available learning experiences throughout entire State [11][12].

In conclusion despite various issues facing today current political climate still relatively strong compared rest country thanks recurring investments made both government organizations private companies aiming create better tomorrow everyone living here alive now those come future generations well visitors alike can enjoy beauty culture offer no matter what their background may possibly !
