Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The team has been in existence since 1924 and is one of the Original Six teams, along with Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Origins
Art Ross was named general manager of the new team when it joined to play its inaugural season on December 1st 1924 against rival Maroons at old Boston Arena After 3 years they won their first Stanley Cup under head coach Art Ross becoming only NHL franchise to win championship during its first season. In 1928 Ernest “Ernie” Wakely took over coaching duties which he held until 1943 leading them to 2 more championships – 1929 & 1939-40 seasons respectively .
