Boo Buie

Boo Buie (born February 5, 1971) is an American basketball coach and former college player. He played collegiately at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he was a four year letterman as point guard for the Wildcats from 1989-1993. Following his collegiate career, Boo played professionally overseas in Germany before returning to the Chicago area to begin his coaching career.

Buie has been head men’s basketball coach at Bradley University since 2019 where he quickly turned around a struggling program with two consecutive post season appearances including a trip to 2021 NCAA Tournament after winning Missouri Valley Conference regular season title going 15–4 in conference play and 23–7 overall record. Prior to taking over at Bradley Buie spent six seasons as associate head coach under Chris Collins at Northwestern from 2013-2019 and also served on staffs of NBA organizations such as Washington Wizards (2011-2013), Dallas Mavericks (2003-2005) and Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder(2008). As assistant /associate head coaches Buie helped guide teams into postseason three times – twice with Northwestern reaching 2018 Big Ten Tournament Championship Game & 2020 NIT Final Four along with one playoff appearance alongside Collins while serving on Wizards staff during 2012–13 Season In 2006-07 season Boo was named Associate Head Coach Of Year by Basketball Times Magazine while working under Avery Johnson With Dallas Mavericks .

Throughout his coaching journey Boos biggest strength have been developing young players both physically & mentally , creating relationships between players&coaches that are built on trust which leads towards success when everyone is all united toward same goal . This approach allowed him not only build strong programs but help many individual players reach next level of their careers whether its professional or national team opportunities . One example would be current San Antonio Spurs center Dāvis Bertāns who improved greatly playing for Latvian National Team Program During Summers While coached By Boo back when they were assistants together On Mavs Staff 2003 – 2005 .

In addition To His Coaching Career , Boo Is Also Founder And President Of B3 Hoops LLC An Organization That Focuses On Player Development For Amateur Players At All Levels Along With Providing Mentorship Services To Help Student Athletes Achieve Goals Both On And Off The Court
