Ben Foster (born October 29, 1980) is an American actor. He made his film debut in the 1994 comedy Little Giants and has since appeared in films such as Liberty Heights (1999), Get Over It (2001), The Punisher (2004), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Alpha Dog (2007), 30 Days of Night(2007), Pandorum(2009) , Contraband(2012). His most notable performances have been playing Lance Armstrong in the biopic The Program and a psychologically troubled soldier returning from Iraq to his family independently directed movie Leave No Trace which earned him Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead nomination.

Foster was born Benjamin A. Foster at Boston’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital on October 29, 1980. Raised mostly in Fairfield, Iowa by parents Steven Fosters who worked as restaurateurs and Gloria Colson an artist he had two brothers Jonathon and Scott both actors themselves with whom he co-starred In 3 Ninjas Kick Back alongside fellow child star Dermot Mulroney .He attended Carnegie Mellon University where he studied acting but dropped out after three months to pursue professional opportunities when offered roles on television shows like Freaks And Geeks or Sisterhood Of traveling Pants .

Foster gained recognition early on playing a number of characters including ‘Huck Finn’in Tom & Huck alongside Jonathan Taylor Thomas ,after several small parts throughout mid 90s it wasn’t until 1999 that critics took notice of him when cast opposite Adrien Brody in Barry Levinson drama Liberty Heights winning praise for his gentle performance prompting Variety magazine calling him “the best young actor working today”. Further success followed with appearances across genres form action movies such as Hostage starring Bruce Willis to indie comedies like Bang Bang You’re Dead earning rave reviews along the way culminating into breakthrough role portraying fictionalized version of cyclist Lance Armstrong while also appearing briefly during ending credits sequence For Angelina Jolie directed Unbroken 2014 war drama about World War II hero Louis Zamperini

Throughout years Ben foster has become one established names within Hollywood circles commanding leading roles headlining few major blockbusters while maintaining steady career taking part smaller scale projects not afraid experiment whether its directing short film Door In Floor 2004 or producing Stephen Dorff led crime thriller Everywhere But Now 2021 .
