Atlanta by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 76 Atlanta is the capital and most populous city in the U.S. state of Georgia, with an estimated 2019 population of 498,044. It is also the 37th largest city by population in the United States and serves as a major cultural center for both African Americans and whites alike due to its history as a civil rights hub during much of The Civil Rights Movement. Situated near topographic features such as Stone Mountain and Lake Lanier, Atlanta was founded at the intersection of two railroad lines on December 29 1837 which made it an ideal location for transportation-oriented businesses from its inception forward into modern times. From this strong foundation over time it has grown to become one of America’s great business cities while still retaining some small town charm relative to other larger metropolitan areas around the country such as New York City or Los Angeles, California . In addition to being home to many large corporate headquarters (Delta Air Lines Inc., Home Depot USA Inc., Coca-Cola Company etc.) , Atlanta hosts numerous conventions each year making tourism another important aspect that contributes significantly towards keeping their economy vibrant throughout all seasons . Other notable landmarks within close proximity include Centennial Olympic Park – built specifically for 1996 Summer Olympics hosted there – Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park , Piedmont Park among others which are popular destinations amongst locals & tourists alike regardless if they have any interest in sports/business related events taking place within Greater Metro Area or not . Furthermore according to Forbes Magazine 2018 report “America’s Best Cities For Young Professionals”; ranked #2 overall & first when considering job growth potential alone ; Atlanta offers plenty attractive opportunities even outside traditional STEM fields like computer science / engineering too thanks largely due wide variety companies available here ranging from media production sector (CNN) healthcare services providers(Emory Healthcare ) automotive industry giants (General Motors Corporation ) software developers plus many more thus providing something everyone no matter what preferences may be . To sum up; between abundance jobs fitting almost every skill set out there along combined access beautiful outdoor attractions located nearby makes living life full joy possible especially younger generations looking make mark onto world without sacrificing quality lifestyle whatsoever given how affordable well established area remains despite notoriously expensive real estate prices seen elsewhere across US today!
