Antony Blinken

Antony Blinken (born April 16, 1962) is an American government official who currently serves as the 70th United States Secretary of State in President Joe Biden’s cabinet. He previously served as deputy national security advisor and deputy secretary of state under President Barack Obama from 2013 to 2017.

Early Life & Education
Blinken was born on April 16, 1962 in New York City to Donald M. Blinken and Judith Pisar. His father served as ambassador to Hungary during the Clinton administration while his mother founded a refugee resettlement organization called Refugees International that provided assistance for those affected by wars and other conflicts around the world . He attended Harvard College where he earned a Bachelors’ degree in Government before going on to pursue a Juris Doctor at Columbia Law School which he completed with honors in 1988.

Career

After graduating law school, Blinken worked for The National Security Council under presidents George H W Bush and Bill Clinton until 1994 when he became Special Assistant To The President For National Security Affairs And Senior Director Of Strategic Planning At The NSC from 1994-1996 . From there ,he moved onto roles such as Chief Staff On Senate Intelligence Committee (1997-2002), Deputy Assistant To The Vice president For National Security Affair(2003 -2005 )and eventually becoming Deputy assistant Secrtary Of State Under Hillary Clinton In 2009 till 2013 when then POTUS Barak Obama appointed him Deputy Natioanl Security Advisor throughtout his second term up till 2017 . Following this post ,He rejoined senate intelligence committee untill 2021 when Presiden Joe Biden named him US Secretary Of Sate replacing Mike Pompeo after winning 2020 Electoral Race

During his career span so far Antony Bliken has been involved various diplomatic missions including negotiations between Israelis And Palestinians over peace talks , support for Syrian opposition forces against Assad Regime among many others exemplary work done towards international diplomacy most notably being awarded French Legion D Honneur By French Preisdent Macron For Outstanding Work In Diplomatic Relationships Between France Nd US Aswell As Order De Merito Civil Award Given By Spainish King Felipe VI Other Than This Various Awards Have Been Given To Him Also Such As Distinguished public Service Medal Awarded By Department Of Defense Among Others
