Afghanistan government by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 54 Afghanistan government is the governing body of Afghanistan, a country located in Central Asia. It consists of three branches: executive, legislative and judicial. The president is the head of state and commander-in-chief of the Afghan Armed Forces while an appointed cabinet serves as his/her advisers and administrators. A bicameral legislature comprised of two chambers – House of Elders (Meshrano Jirga) and House Of People (Wolesi Jirga) – provides oversight to all matters within its jurisdiction including national security, foreign policy, economy etcetera. Lastly there are independent judiciary courts that operate according to Islamic laws enshrined in Constitution which was adopted on January 4th 2004 after several years’ worth discussions between various political factions vying for power at time .
