Adoption is the process of establishing a legal relationship between two parents and a child who is not biologically related to either one. It can be done domestically or internationally, with adoptive families coming from all walks of life. Adopted children are recognized as full members of their new family and have the same rights as any other child in that family.

History & Background
The practice of adoption dates back thousands of years, with evidence suggesting its use among ancient civilizations such as Ancient Greece and Rome.
