Adama Sanogo by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 67 Adama Sanogo (born 25th March 1985) is an Ivorian professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for the French club Lens. Born in Anyama, Ivory Coast, he began his career at local side ASEC Mimosas before moving to Europe in 2005 and joining Belgian club Charleroi. He made over 100 appearances with them until 2010 when he signed with Greek side Olympiakos Volou 1937 FC. Sanogo spent three seasons playing for Olympiakos Volou before signing with Ligue 1’s Valenciennes on 15 July 2013 where he would spend four years making 98 total appearances for the team across all competitions including 85 league matches. On 17 June 2017, it was announced that Sanogo had joined fellow Ligue 1 side Stade Reims on a two-year deal after being released by Valenciennes at the end of their 2016–17 season due to financial difficulties they were facing. He played 33 times during his time there helping them earn promotion back into the top flight of French football but left again upon its expiration in 2019 opting instead to join RC Lens where he remains today having already featured 35 times so far this campaign aiding them towards a potential European spot finish come May 2021 when the season ends scoring four goals along the way too – one each against Dijon FCO & OGC Nice and two more versus SM Caen & Angers SCO respectively.. Throughout his entire senior career spanning 16 years now Adama has been capped twice internationally representing Ivory Coast both occasions coming from 2006 – 2007 although never adding any further caps since then despite still being eligible recently given his age just 36 . All told between all clubs combined throughout those sixteen years thusfar Sanago has amassed an impressive 495 total games while also managing 11 goals which speaks volumes about how much consistent quality experience can bring such longevity within professional football circles even if not always winning individual awards or accolades alongtheway either ..
