All of the young stars captured in the image appear to be no larger than our own sun. Scientists assert that this remarkable snapshot provides unparalleled clarity of this fleeting phase in the life of a star.

“It’s akin to glimpsing what our own solar system would have looked like billions of years ago during its formation,” remarked NASA program scientist Eric Smith in an interview with The Big Big News.
