Donatella Versace decided to move from Milan to Los Angeles and show her fashion collection just before the Oscars, as she was fascinated by the glamour and strength of Hollywood. She also needed one extra thing – nice weather – to make it a success!

Versace had to switch her fashion show from Friday to Thursday because it was going to rain. It was a very beautiful night in Los Angeles with the snow-covered San Gabriel mountains, tall buildings in downtown, and the Hollywood hills all visible.

Right after the show was over, it started to get dark outside. Everyone then switched on the bright lights and played Prince’s song “Let’s Go Crazy” before heading out for drinks.

When everyone first arrived at the tall Pacific Design Center located in Melrose Avenue, the sun was still up. Everybody wanted to take pictures with the amazing view behind them but were advised not to go too close to the edge of the building or they might fall off.

Famous stars from all kinds of backgrounds including music, film, fashion and sports were present in both the crowd and on the runway. Naomi Campbell, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and Irina Shayk walked down the catwalk for everyone to see.

Cher cause a lot of excitement when she appeared with famous music stars like Elton John, Dua Lipa and Lil Nas X. Two Oscar-Winning best supporting actresses Ariana DeBose and Anne Hathaway, plus this year’s favorite actor Ke Huy Quan were from cinema. Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Jeff Bezos, Channing Tatum, Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson and Lily James (who played her in a Hulu show) were some notable celebrities there too.

For her 2023 Fall-Winter line, Versace took inspiration from a 1995 fashion collection. The campaign promoting this new line featured Madonna and the colours used included black, caramel, chocolate, apricot, turquoise, and pink. Additionally, the prints used included an animal print from the Versace archive and a flower design.

Gigi Hadid began the show wearing a black jacket and long skirt. The look become more sparkly afterwards – she even wore a dress with a see-through top and sleeves! Naomi Campbell made an appearance later on in an amazing black gown with gloves that reached her elbows.

At the start of the show, everyone was wearing mostly dark clothes. Then suddenly bright pink clothes like cropped jackets and miniskirts appeared. Later, there were fancy dresses in shiny satin with matching gloves for style.

Back in the 1920s, luxury fashion was all about long gloves, short skirts, and large sunglasses. This combination created a powerful contrast between old-school classical glamour from Hollywood’s Golden Age and modern styles. According to Versace, this clash of styles allowed for an exciting energy that made people feel confident and empowered.

The fashion designer has designed this collection as a form of protection for the wearer. Los Angeles is like a second home to Versace and its residents even more so during Oscar week, when many celebrities come together or meet each other in person. This year they will be walking down the champagne-colored carpet on Oscars night just like it was today when they arrived at the show!

Lipa was seen spending time with Cher, and Wade and DeBose were both wearing cute outfits. Two celebrities met for the first time and seemed super excited about it! Hathaway said “I’m fainting!” when she saw Quan, who replied “I love you so much.” Everyone was so happy for them!
