Trump to Gather Forces in Waco as Charges Loom on the Horizon

Donald Trump is holding a rally in Waco, Texas. This is the first of his 2024 presidential campaign. Even though he might get in trouble with legal issues, he still wants to show people that he can be strong. The city of Waco is famous because it was the site where there was a conflict between police and citizens a few years ago.

The day before today, people who support President Trump started gathering at an airport in Waco. In April of 1993, part of this same airport was the site of a terrible event called the Waco Massacre. During that time, law enforcement tried to enter a building owned by a religious group called the Branch Davidians. When they tried to get inside, there was a big fight which then led to almost two months’ worth of conflict. In the end, many people died in a huge fire.

Donald Trump is holding a rally, and he has been saying some pretty bad stuff. He even hinted at potential violence in the future – something that’s never happened before! This rhetoric is similar to how he talked before the attack on the Capitol building by his supporters. Joe Biden won the presidential election and they were trying to stop him from taking office.

President Donald Trump asked a question on social media: “How can someone charge the former President of the United States and main candidate for the Republican Party should be charged with something if they did not actually do anything wrong? It’s scary to think what could happen to our country if that crime was falsely made.”

The Trump campaign said that they chose the location and date of an event by chance and not to commemorate the Waco siege anniversary. They explained that the site was selected because it is close to some of Texas’ most important cities – Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio – which have great facilities for a lot of people.

Trump’s spokesperson Steve Cheung said it was the perfect place for people from all over the state and nearby states to attend the big rally. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick then spoke up saying that HE had suggested Waco as the venue and it had nothing to do with any anniversary and he said “Fake news. I picked Waco!” to the crowd.

The city that the rally is being held in part of a county which Donald Trump won in 2020 with more than 23 percent of the people’s votes. It is 17 miles away from a place called Branch Davidian compound. Before Donald Trump arrived, hundreds of his supporters started to come and they were buying things like flags, bumper stickers, and action figures. There weren’t any people there who disagreed with him or protested against him waiting in line.

Eugene Torres, 41 years old, isn’t worried about the chance of President Trump being taken to court. Torres is from Corpus Christi, Texas and thinks this could just be a way for political opponents to stop Trump running and winning again.

Alan Kregel, who is 56, and his wife travelled together to Texas just so that they could see Donald Trump in person for the first time! Even though he voted for him back in 2016 and 2020, Mr. Kregel realized that Trump’s ‘ways’ and words were taking away from his policies. Now, two years later, Alan believes that he supports Trump even more than before. He commented that ‘Trump is an innocent person who has been treated badly’ and then went on to add that it might even help Trump win again in 2024 if a new indictment comes out of this situation.

The speaker said it was all a fuss over nothing and showed that many people on the left side of the Democratic party are trying to use the law as if it were a weapon. Before we found out that a grand jury in New York is almost ready to introduce charges about money given to women who claim Trump had sexual encounters with them during his election campaign, plans for the rally had already been arranged. Although President Trump has denied these claims, the grand jury is still looking into this issue.

This situation will provide President Trump with a chance to show that he’s still popular among Republicans and to make people see that the investigation against him is just a way of causing trouble as he runs for re-election.

The special jury in charge of looking into the secret payment is scheduled to meet once again on Monday, this time in New York.

Trump has been talking a lot lately about one particular investigation. He even said last Saturday that he would get arrested within the next few days but that didn’t happen. Since then, Trump’s been doing everything he can to influence the way people see this situation – just like he did with an investigation into Russia not too long ago.

President Trump is using very disrespectful language on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. He calls him bad names such as “danger to our Country” and uses racism when speaking about him.

On Thursday, President Trump tried to link Manhattan’s first Black District Attorney (named Bragg) to billionaire liberal donor George Soros. In his words, Trump said Bragg was “backed by Soros” and he shared a photo of himself swinging a baseball bat towards Bragg with an article about them.

President Trump has asked his supporters to fight for their country and to take it back. He also said that our nation is being ruined even though people are trying to stay peaceful. Last Friday, something like powder was found with a letter in a mailroom at Bragg’s office. But later it was discovered that the stuff wasn’t dangerous.

Democrats warned that former President Trump could cause someone to get hurt because of his words. House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries said, “Trump’s speech is reckless and irresponsible. It’s dangerous, and if he continues it, he might put someone in danger.”

The Manhattan case is about an amount of $130,000 that Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen gave to porn star Stormy Daniels while Trump was running for president in 2016. After that, Trump paid back Cohen, and his company wrote the payment off as a legal expense. Due to this and other actions, Cohen went to prison after he pleaded guilty to charges like breaking campaign finance laws and lying to Congress.

The President, Donald Trump, is facing several investigations in Georgia for trying to change the results of last year’s election. He is also being looked into by the federal authorities for how he dealt with secret documents and who he spoke to on January 6th. Paul Weber from Texas, Michael Sisak from New York and Sagar Meghani from Washington helped with this story.
