According to the report by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, rapper Coolio died because of a deadly mix of drugs including fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine. The coroner said that he also had a heart condition called cardiomyopathy which makes it harder for his heart to pump blood throughout his body and that his severe asthma as well as cigarette smoking caused complications in this death too.

Coolio’s manager Jarez Posey has confirmed the reason why he died. Coolio (Artis Leon Ivey Jr.) passed away in September 2022 at the age of 59, at a friend’s home located in Los Angeles. He achieved world-wide fame when his song “Gangsta’s Paradise” won him a Grammy award. The song was released in 1995 as part of the film Dangerous Minds’ soundtrack, and it is based on Stevie Wonder’s hit from 1976 called “Pastime Paradise”.

Coolio was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania before later moving to California where he settled in Compton.

By the time he was 15 years old Coolio had first started rapping and three years later he was certain that it would be his full-time career. He studied at community college before focusing entirely on hip hop music.

His songs were popular throughout his career selling 4.8 million albums with 978 million streams according to Luminate group. He also received 6 Grammy award nominations as well!

Coolio had a style that made him famous, which included acting in shows and being the voice for an animated character. He was even behind the music for a Nickelodeon sitcom! Sadly, he passed away, but before he did, he had been working on an album to be released later this year.
