Sleek New Spacesuits Unveiled for Future NASA Moonwalkers

Astronauts who will walk on the Moon will wear new and improved suits when they get there in a few years. The company making these is called Axiom Space, and they’re going to have them ready for astronauts to use for practice by this summer. The details about what the suits look like, however, are still a secret!

NASA’s new moon suits will be white like the ones used by astronauts during the Apollo program many years ago. This is because these suits can reflect heat and keep the moon explorers cool! The suits are even better than before since they provide more flexibility and protection for explorers on the moon, and there will be different sizes available.

NASA just gave a $228.5 million contract to Axiom Space, because they are going to help with the first moon landing in over 50 years. They hope to take two astronauts to the south pole of the moon around late 2025. An Axiom employee recently showed off a dark spacesuit, showing how flexible and comfortable it is. The costume you see here may not be the same as what NASA will use later on – including its color!

Axiom’s Russell Ralston said, “I don’t want anyone to be confused.”
