The Lansing Police Department responded to notifications about gunfire around 1 a.m., as mentioned in their official announcement.

For four hours, students were instructed to stay inside while hundreds of officers conducted a manhunt for the shooter over an area roughly 90 miles (145 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. The suspect, 43-year-old Anthony McRae, took his own life when police approached him near his residence in Lansing.

Can’t even feel safe in your own town anymore. Lansing folks stay safe, we need change and we need it now.
