After a Beverly Hills accident, former “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving by Los Angeles prosecutors. The charge comes three months after the actor and writer was reported to have crashed into a Beverly Hills residence.

The LA County District Attorney’s Office brought forward a single misdemeanor count of reckless driving against Davidson but withheld details pertaining to the collision on March 4 in Beverly Hills.

According to a statement from the DA’s office, “Mr. Davidson is believed to have driven recklessly, leading to a severe collision with a home. We’re thankful that this collision did not lead to any significant injuries.”

Davidson is slated to be arraigned on July 27. Requests for comments from Davidson’s representatives and the Beverly Hills Police Department have not been returned promptly.

The DA’s office used this high-profile incident as an opportunity to emphasize the “grave consequences” associated with reckless driving.

In the office’s statement, it said, “In 2022, Los Angeles traffic-related fatalities have surged to a 20-year high. This alarming rise cannot be ignored. Hence, it’s vital that we treat all reckless driving allegations with utmost seriousness and hold those accountable who are responsible.”
