An anonymous online post, which has since been removed, alleged that a high school junior appeared alongside Giddey in various videos and images. The account responsible for this post is no longer active. Australian-born Giddey, who celebrated his 21st birthday in October, has yet to comment on the matter. NBA spokesperson Michael Bass confirmed on Friday, “We’re looking into it.” When approached for a comment during Friday’s practice, Giddey chose to remain silent. “I understand the question, obviously,” he remarked. “But there’s no further comment right now.” Repeated inquiries received the same response: “I get the question, guys. I completely understand your curiosity. But just for right now, I don’t have anything to say.” Thunder’s coach, Mark Daigneault, labeled the issue as personal and refrained from commenting. Giddey currently holds an average of 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in the current season for the Thunder, who have a strong 11-4 start. Drafted in the first round in 2021, Giddey was included in the All-Rookie second team in his debut season. His previous season’s average stood at 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. During the World Cup this summer, he led the Australian team with an average of 19.4 points, contributing to their 3-2 record.
